Glyphipterix circumscriptella

Rockaway Township, Morris County, NJ - 6/18/12 - 4:40PMPossibly a widespread or widely scattered but very rare species (although using bugguide as a judge of rarity is fraught with many potential problems). It has only been reported to bugguide twice before, once from New York State and once from Wisconsin. The Moth Photographer's Group adds a few more records adding Illinois, Kentucky, Texas and Quebec, but not many. This is apparently a first record for New Jersey. Perhaps they are more abundant but just overlooked due to small size.
